Swimming
Folegandros crystal water beaches are separated in two categories:
The south ones that always protected from the wind and the waters are calm and the north ones that are more exposed to weather conditions but are worth discovering.
Agkali, Aghios Nikolaos, Agios Georgios, Katergo, Livadaki are some of the best known beaches among others.
Hiking
The island is filled with footpaths and old stone paved trails that used to form the old roads of the island, along which the local people led or rode their animals and carried their goods.
The most delightful way to explore the landscape of Folegandros is on foot. There is a well-maintained system of trails along which the visitor can explore the extraordinary beauty of the island and the local flora and fauna. Some of them lead to the sea so hiking and swimming can be combined.
Food and Night life
Folegandros has strong culinary tradition and some of the island’s local dishes are quite famous ,like matsata, which is local pasta traditionally served with rooster.
On the island there are both restaurants that follow the European cuisine and the traditional one so that every taste and preference is satisfied.
As the light fades the island squares get filled with people that have enjoyed the amazing sunset drinking a cocktail and get ready for dinner. Bars stay open until 3.00 pm.
In general nightlife in Folegandros is not noisy but not at all dull.
